Outcast Films is a modern distribution company that assists filmmakers
in engaging educators, community leaders and activists around social
justice and environmental issues. Outcast Films works in collaboration
with filmmakers to develop strategic educational marketing and sales
initiatives aimed at colleges and universities, academic conferences,
public libraries, community centers, government agencies and other
NGO's. Using film as the conduit for social change, Outcast Films
has launched several successful initiatives including “HIV@30” and
“Marriage Equality”.
VANESSA DOMICO – FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
An entrepreneur at heart, Vanessa brings over 25 years of business
experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. During
her career, Vanessa formed collaborations and partnerships with
hundreds of businesses and organizations that in turn have generated
new revenue for dozens of filmmakers. Through successful campaigns
including “HIV@30”, “Response to Hate” and
“Marriage Equality”, Vanessa raised awareness on important
issues such as HIV/AIDS and basic human rights. Vanessa holds a
BA in Film Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a MFA from
Cornell University. She resides in New York City.
ERIK GUDRIS – COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Erik brings over 10 years of distribution and marketing experience
to his role as Communications Manager of Outcast Films. After working
in K-12 publishing, Erik spent several years overseeing sales and
marketing for a boutique documentary distributor based in Los Angeles.
Since then, he has consulted on web development, social media, audience
outreach and educational sales for numerous filmmakers and media
producers. Erik holds a BA in English from the University of North
Carolina and a MA in Media Studies from New School University.
