Outcast Films is a distribution company dedicated to the fair and
equal representation of media made by and concerning the diverse
LGBT community. Outcast Films outreaches to thousands of educators,
activists, policy makers and breakers, media arts institutions,
and individuals. By doing so, we hope to foster critical discussions
around social justice issues, as well as providing the public with
a resource of cutting edge films and videos.

INTERNET MARKETING ASSISTANT
Outcast Films is currently seeking an INTERNET MARKETING ASSISTANT
to help us have a presence in as many on-line communities as possible.
This is a great job for a student or anybody who wants to make some
extra money doing what they love to do: surfing the web. Candidate
must be hip and cool (or whatever the kids are saying these days)
and up on all the latest sites.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Research new on-line communities and opportunities that would
promote Outcast Films
Set up accounts with on-line communities;
Upload film clips, copy, and other information;
Maintain all site locations;
Write copy for websites;
Outreach to on-line communities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Outstanding organizational skills necessary;
Excellent communication and writing skills;
Detail oriented;
Knowledgeable about issues facing the LGBT community;
Film buff a plus.
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Time: Flexible - up to 20 hours a month

MARKETING OUTREACH COORIDNATOR
Outcast Films is currently seeking a MARKETING OUTREACH COORDINATOR
to assist in promoting and marketing our films and organization.
This is a free-lance position and one that requires you to have
your own computer and work space.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Writing copy for promotional materials and film synopsis;
Researching LGBT publications including books, articles, papers,
films and filmmakers;
Developing and strategizing campaign based outreach, including
subject area research and strategy development to reach current
and new customers;
Developing study guides to be used as study tools with films;
Outreach to community-based and academic organizations including
academic reviewer’s conferences, festivals, filmmakers and
civil rights organizations;
Developing materials including brochures, postcards, flyers,
emails and web content;
Perform extensive online subject area research;
Work with film festivals and programmers to book screenings.
REQUIREMENTS:
3 years of related film, marketing or distribution experience
with proven record of developing, managing and executing marketing
campaigns;
Excellent communication, computer and writing skills;
Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as
a team;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally
and in written format.
Must have outstanding organizational skills and must be detail oriented;
Insightful knowledge of political, health, social, economic and
cultural issues facing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
community.
Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour

VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS
Outcast Films is currently seeking interns to assist us in our
marketing and promotion outreach. This is an excellent opportunity
for anyone interested in the business side of film distribution
and LGBT activism. Because all of our internships are virtual you
can work from wherever you like, whenever you like, as long as you
have access to the computer.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Researching LGBT publications including books, articles, papers,
films and filmmakers;
Research and develop partnerships with community groups and arts
organizations;
Perform extensive online subject area research.
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication, computer and writing skills;
Must have excellent organizational skills and is detail oriented;
Insightful knowledge of political, health, social, economic and
cultural issues facing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
community.
Non Paying
Work hours and location are flexible but requires minimum
4 hrs/wk or a minimum of 200 total hours.
