OUTCAST FILMS CROSSES THE
POND
Outcast Films is happy to announce our collaboration with the 22nd
International London Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and
in conjunction with the British Film Institute,
as we present a retrospective of the work of acclaimed filmmaker
Su Friedrich. Entitled DESIRE AND DEFIANCE: THE FILMS OF
SU FRIEDRICH, the retrospective will include eight of Friedrich’s
film including SEEING RED, HIDE AND SEEK, DAMNED IF YOU
DON’T, THE LESBIAN AVENGERS EAT FIRE , TOO, RULES OF THE ROAD,
THE ODDS OF RECOVERY, FIRST COMES LOVE and the classic
film SINK OR SWIM. Friedrich will be on hand in
London this weekend (April 4th – 6th) at some of the screenings
to talk about her work and highly respected film career.
In addition to the Friedrich retrospective at the London fest, Outcast
Films is thrilled to report that our latest acquisition, SHE’S
A BOY I KNEW by Gwen Haworth, will be playing to a SOLD
OUT audience this Thursday April 3rd . Gwen will be on
hand at the screening after returning from ANOTHER SOLD
OUT screening at the Amnesty International Film Festival
screening in The Netherlands. SHE’S A BOY I KNEW,
a heart breaking and often comic look at gender and sexuality, has
been selected at MORE THAN 20 FILMS FESTIVALS, crossing over from
LGBT fests to women’s festivals, documentary festivals, and
acclaimed international festivals such as Vancouver, Palm Spring’s
and Cleveland.
